Barranca Verde

Which zone just used 300 gallons?

Barranca Verde attributes Flume water data to your Rachio irrigation runs. See exactly how much water, and money, each zone uses.

Requires a Flume water monitor and Rachio sprinkler controller.

Everything you need, nothing you don't

Per-zone attribution

Barranca Verde listens for zone-start and zone-stop events from Rachio and matches them against your Flume meter data. The result: actual gallons for each individual zone run, not a monthly total, not a guess.

Irrigation vs. total

See daily trend charts, zone breakdowns, and how much of your household water is going to irrigation vs. everything else. Useful for tuning runtimes and catching over-watering.

Real cost reporting

Enter your utility's tiered rate schedule and see the dollar cost of every irrigation run. Supports up to four billing tiers and monthly or bimonthly billing cycles.

Frequently asked questions

What hardware do I need?
A Flume water monitor (any model) installed on your main water line, and a Rachio smart sprinkler controller (any generation). Both devices must be connected to their respective cloud accounts.
How does per-zone attribution work?
Rachio sends a webhook notification the moment a zone starts and stops, and we record those as per-zone run windows. Every 15 minutes, Barranca Verde pulls minute-level usage data from Flume and sums the gallons that flowed during each zone's run window. That sum is attributed to the zone. Per-zone stats update a few hours after a run once Flume's API catches up. Read the full integration guide →
What's the difference between Free and Paid?
Free gives you 30 days of history, per-zone run logging, cost breakdowns, and CSV export. Paid ($5/month or $50/year) extends history to a full year and unlocks the irrigation-vs-total household usage breakdown chart, useful for seeing what share of your water bill is actually irrigation.
How accurate is the water usage data?
Barranca Verde uses your Flume device's actual flow sensor readings, the same data your utility relies on. Gallons per zone are attributed by matching the Flume flow record to each Rachio run. Note that Flume's API has a 3–6 hour lag, so per-zone gallons appear a few hours after each run rather than immediately.
Is my Rachio API key stored securely?
Yes. Your Rachio API key and Flume credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being stored. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties. You can revoke access and delete your account at any time.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime. Cancel from Settings → Billing in the app. You keep full access until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees.
